The purpose of meditation is to cultivate states of mind that are conducive to inncer peace and well-being, and to eradicate negative states of mind.These meditation classes provide you a detailed explanation of Buddhist meditation practice and philosophy.These teachings and meditation sessions are suitable for beginners and experienced meditators. In each class we will explore a new topic from Buddha’s teachings, a specific aspect of meditation methods, and how to apply what you have learned to your daily life. 

Goals:  Experience selfless inner calm free free from craving and grasping

            Deal with challenges in a positive way
            Develop an inner clarity of mind known as wisdom

Format: Each class is 75 minutes long and is broken down into several sections. We begin with an introduction to the topic covered, then we still our minds with a guided 10 minute breathing meditation This is followed by a 25 minute commentary on the actual meditation practice, then 10 minute guided meditation on the topic, and 15+ minutes of intra-class discussion, questions and answers. After class feel free to stay and visit and discuss with like-minded practitioners.

Continuing with the second part of Universal Compassion, Seven Points of Training the Mind, we train in the wisdom realizing the emptiness of the mind itself motivated by love and compassion. Wisdom is like medicine because it completely removes our suffering; therefore we live life free from fears and anxiety.
