Ask any health care provider, the single most powerful variable impacting our health in the modern world is stress! Indeed, it has been estimated that stress not only underlies 80% of all illness and chronic disease, but “stress related issues” are responsible for 75-90% of all doctor visits. While we cannot always eliminate the stressors we experience in our everyday life (e.g., work, family, politics, economics, discrimination, etc.), Energy Medicine can help us manage day to day stress more effectively, and ultimately help us reprogram our bodies to be more resistant, resilient, and balanced in the face of stress. During this session participants will learn about stress from an Energy Medicine perspective, and learn specific exercises designed to manage and help reprogram our stress response. These easy-to-do qigong-like exercises are ideal for all populations since they require no equipment, can be done standing and/or sitting, and are appropriate for everyone regardless of health, age or fitness level. These exercises have been shown to not only reduce the physical, mental and emotional impact of chronic stress but also improve overall well-being in the process.
