Are you, or someone you know, considering or facing the possibility of divorce? Or are you in the middle of a divorce and feeling lost, frustrated, or overwhelmed? This program is designed to educate individuals and couples who are domestic partners, married, or parents about: preparing for divorce, separation, and parentage actions; requirements for divorce in California; the legal process; the personal, family, and financial impact; and no court options. This class is co-taught by a family law attorney, a divorce financial specialist, and a family specialist. We will explore contested (“litigated”) court and out-of-court processes, like mediation and collaborative divorce, parenting plans, child/spousal support, property division, and how to manage the impact on children and the personal emotional process during the divorce. This information, through individual professional 1-hour consults, would normally cost a minimum of $750. By the end of this program you will have a better understanding of the process options and what process may work best for you given your circumstances, as well as resources to manage your divorce in an informed and focused way.
