Forging and Welding - Functional And Creative Metalwork - All Levels

ID : 29640
« back to classes page
Blacksmithing may be an ancient art, but it has survived, thrived, and continued to expand, throughout time to the present day. GMAW welding, also known as MIG, is very modern technology in comparison, but together these two metalworking techniques can be used to build and create nearly anything you can imagine. In this workshop you will be introduced to the idea of thinking with your hands through the physical transformation of steel. You will learn both blacksmithing and welding and use these techniques to create various projects, which can then be taken home and used. As a student you will have many opportunities to explore whatever aspects of these techniques that you are interested in and will have plenty of room to make each project your own. No previous experience is required, and all tools and materials will be supplied, though you are encouraged to bring your own if you have them. Class is limited, sign up early. Studio/Independent Project Option available. Call 714.432.5880, press 1, for more information.
