Due Diligence in Hiring a Contractor - What You Don't Know CAN Hurt You

ID : 29738
« back to classes page
This class is for homeowners who are looking to select a contractor for improving, repairing or adding onto their home. Contractor licensing laws provide minimal assurance that those licensed understand the laws and the basics of administering the contracting business; therefore due diligence is necessary. Upon completion of this class, you will: know what to look for when hiring a contractor; learn how to check a contractor’s license and insurance before hiring them; and decide how to proceed in case of a dispute with a contractor you hire. What you don’t know can hurt you both financially and take a toll on you emotionally. Make sure you do everything you can to select the appropriate contractor for the job and make the project of renovating/repairing your home a positive experience.
